Our founder, Kevin Salgado, is a first-generation Latino and a proud alumnus of West Virginia University's Landscape Architecture program. But his real-world education started long before college. From the age of eleven, Kevin was the voice for his father, Mauricio, who ran a small but respected concrete and stone company. Every summer, Kevin would join his father, not just learning the craft firsthand, but translating estimates and building a deep understanding of construction from the ground up.

After graduating, Kevin secured a coveted position at a renowned landscape architecture firm in Georgetown, where he honed his skills designing high-end gardens and estates across D.C. It was a comfortable office job and a promising career path.

But when his father's health declined, the family business—the one that had supported them for years—was at risk. Kevin faced a choice. He walked away from his comfortable desk and stepped back into the field, getting his hands dirty to save the legacy his father had built.

It was this pivotal moment that forged KS Landscape Designs. By blending his professional, architectural design expertise with the honest, hands-on construction skill inherited from his father, Kevin began offering clients a complete, seamless service. The result is a boutique firm rooted in family values, driven by passion, and dedicated to transforming your outdoor space into a masterful, livable work of art.
